About
Can’t keep up with the Joneses is a comic strip created by Sherilyn Jones and was produced by her company The Concept Media Group, LLC . It chronicles the life of a group of siblings in a world of hip hop, religious, and hilarious family situations.
Common themes in the strip include occurrences an average family would experience, the tremendous jokes and pranks the characters display towards one another, and the overall message of being an original person. The comics primary focus is essentially on the interactions of the siblings as a group as well as individually.
Originally created with the intentions of having a marketable comic without a main character is noticeable throughout the comic strip. Every strip has a different character with the leading role that will allow the viewers and fans to fall in love with their own favorite personality. This promotes every character as a important factor and expresses their individuality.
The inspiration behind the cartoon sprouted from the question, “Why keep up with others when you can just be yourself?”, said Sherilyn, the creator of the comic. “The world is full of followers and that’s how the comic got its name. You can’t be someone you’re not. Can’t Keep Up With The Joneses.”
